As ground battles between Russian and Ukrainian forces continue for the seventh day on Russian soil, an exhibition showcasing Russia's advanced weapons was held near the capital, Moscow.

According to local media on the 12th (local time), Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a video speech at the opening ceremony of the international military technology forum 'ARMY 2024' held at the Patriot Park in Kubinka, Moscow Oblast, where Russia began a large-scale display of its advanced defense industry achievements. This event has been hosted annually by the Russian Ministry of Defense since 2015.

President Putin stated, "Russia possesses many innovative weapons that cannot be found anywhere else in the world, and their effectiveness has been proven on the battlefield," adding, "Designers, engineers, and scientists continue to work at defense factories, taking into account combat experience gained from the special military operation."

Delegations from dozens of countries attended the event, with over 120 companies participating. The Russian Ministry of Defense explained that four allied countries?Belarus, China, India, and Iran?set up booths at the event, which runs until the 14th. Sputnik News previously reported that North Korea is also expected to send a delegation to this event. President Putin expressed hope that through this event, allied countries would engage in more active security exchanges with Russia and conclude mutually beneficial contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense and defense industry companies.

Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov said in his opening speech, "This year's ARMY 2024 forum program is focused on discussing how to adapt the experience of the special military operation and the challenges faced by the military to the industry," adding, "Modern weapons proven effective in actual combat situations, as well as innovative solutions in artificial intelligence, wireless electronics, and information technology (IT) will be exhibited."
