Incheon Chamber of Commerce Conducts ESG Consulting for Automotive Parts Manufacturing Industry

The Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry is recruiting participating companies and ESG consulting firms for the 'Win-Win ESG Consulting Support Project' to help the sustainable growth and development of automobile parts manufacturing companies in the Incheon area.

Recently, companies have been required to implement ESG management in response to carbon neutrality initiatives such as the European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, but they are facing difficulties due to budget and manpower constraints.

Accordingly, Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Incheon City are actively supporting companies that need to introduce ESG management by implementing the Win-Win ESG Consulting Support Project and are recruiting participating companies until the 23rd of this month. The application target is 15 automobile parts manufacturing companies in Incheon, and consulting worth up to 2 million KRW per company will be supported.

In addition, to provide high-quality consulting, professional ESG consulting institutions will also be recruited through an open competitive bidding process. The selected institutions will conduct basic ESG diagnosis and ESG capacity enhancement consulting for the participating companies.

Detailed information such as recruitment periods and participation requirements for each project can be found on the Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry website and BizOK.

An official from the Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated, “Through this project, we hope to internalize ESG management within companies and establish a sustainable management system, leading to improved export competitiveness of Incheon’s automobile parts manufacturing industry.”

Meanwhile, this project is being promoted under a win-win agreement between the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Hyundai-Kia Motors to improve working conditions for subcontractors within the automobile industry. Incheon City was selected for the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s 'Automobile Industry Win-Win Agreement Expansion Support Project' and is providing 1 billion KRW to the Incheon automobile industry, with the project operation being led by the Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
