Patent Office Recruiting Students for Intellectual Property Credit Bank Courses

The International Intellectual Property Training Institute of the Korean Intellectual Property Office announced on the 12th that it will recruit online students for the "2024 2nd Semester Intellectual Property Credit Bank" from the 13th to the 20th.


The Intellectual Property Credit Bank is an online bachelor's degree program consisting of courses related to intellectual property law and litigation, intellectual property creation and management strategies, and more.


This program is free and open to any citizen who has graduated from high school or holds an equivalent academic qualification.


Students who have graduated from a four-year university can earn a degree by completing 48 credits in major subjects. High school graduates and junior college graduates must complete 140 credits, including 60 credits in major subjects, 30 credits in liberal arts, and 50 credits in general education, to meet the degree requirements and obtain a "Bachelor of Intellectual Property" degree awarded by the Minister of Education.


Students enrolled in universities that have credit exchange agreements with the Korean Intellectual Property Office can have the courses completed in the Intellectual Property Credit Bank recognized as credits at their current university. In the second semester of this year, 11 universities, including Chungnam National University and Jeonbuk National University, are participating in credit exchange with the Korean Intellectual Property Office.


Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis among applicants. The second semester classes will be held for 15 weeks from November 3 to December 16. Eleven courses, including Introduction to Intellectual Property and Trademark Law, will be offered. Each student can enroll in up to 7 courses (a total of 21 credits).
