Equipped with Individual Focus Seats, Lounge, and Fingerprint Access System
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) is renovating the Wonhyo-ro 1-ga Youth Study Room into a study cafe and will temporarily open it for one month starting from the 13th. During the temporary opening, it will be operated free of charge, and any inconveniences will be addressed before the official opening in September.
Located on the 3rd floor of the 1st annex of the Yongsan Dream Tree Complex Town, this facility is equipped with ▲44 study seats ▲a lounge ▲study rooms ▲a fingerprint recognition access system ▲wheelchair-accessible seats ▲and personal lockers.
The fingerprint recognition system allows access only to users, and parents can check their children's entry status through a notification feature. Dedicated staff regularly inspect the facility for any issues.
After the official opening, usage fees will be 500 to 2,000 KRW for youth (up to 24 years old) and 1,000 to 5,000 KRW for adults, with options for hourly or daily passes. A monthly subscription costs 50,000 KRW for youth and 120,000 KRW for adults. Usage fees are waived for vulnerable youth such as recipients of national basic livelihood security and children under foster care. The facility will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. every Tuesday through Sunday (closed on Mondays and legal holidays).
The district plans to establish a study cafe-type youth study room within the Hannam-dong Youth Complex Cultural Space by the end of this year and convert the Ichon 2-dong Youth Study Room into a study cafe next year.
District Mayor Park Hee-young stated, “The previously opened Cheongpa and Hangang Youth Study Rooms have also become popular after being converted into study cafe types. We will continue to do our best in remodeling the remaining youth study rooms to ensure that Yongsan youth can enjoy better learning environments.”
