Gyeonggi Province will hold an additional open recruitment for cities and counties to participate in the eco-friendly hydrogen energy self-sufficient small city project, the ‘Mini Hydrogen City Creation Project,’ until September 23.
The Mini Hydrogen City Creation Project is one of the pledges of Gyeonggi Province’s 8th term of local government, under the ‘Hydrogen Convergence Cluster Creation’ initiative.
Through this open recruitment, Gyeonggi Province will select one city or county as a ‘Mini Hydrogen City’ and support up to 50% of the total project cost (up to 5 billion KRW from the provincial budget) for three years.
Previously, Gyeonggi Province conducted the first recruitment until April 30 and selected Paju-si, and through this second announcement, one additional city or county will be selected.
Interested cities or counties may participate by forming a consortium with public institutions, private companies, or independently, and propose a project plan tailored to their regional characteristics.
Gyeonggi Province will give additional points for ‘clean hydrogen production’ and ‘utilization of existing hydrogen infrastructure.’ For more details, please refer to the Gyeonggi Province website (www.gg.go.kr).
Jung Han-gyu, Director of the Advanced Mobility Industry Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Gyeonggi Province plans to accelerate the transition to eco-friendly hydrogen energy through the Mini Hydrogen City Creation Project," and added, "We hope for active interest and participation from cities and counties."
