Dobong-gu Completes Banghakcheon Public Visual Media Standard Design Development and Environmental Improvement Project
Focus on Easily Recognizable Pictograms, Text Design, and Point Colors
Installation of Retaining Wall Graphic Design, Introduction of Safety Nudge Design, Replacement of Public Information Signs, etc.
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has completely improved the public visual media along Banghakcheon Stream.
All visual media informing pedestrians and cyclists for a pleasant and safe use of Banghakcheon were revamped.
Last month, as part of the Dobong-gu Public Design Promotion Plan project, the district developed a standard design for public visual media in riverside spaces and announced that the pilot project for improving the public visual media environment along Banghakcheon was completed earlier this month.
A district official explained, “The newly developed public visual media design focuses on pictograms, text design, and point colors to ensure easy identification by everyone.”
First, at the entrance to Banghakcheon, a retaining wall graphic design was created to enhance visibility as an entry point. At the intersection of the pedestrian path and bicycle road, a safety nudge design was applied to prevent collision accidents.
Overall signage was also reorganized. Considering the characteristics of each section, appropriate public guidance signs were installed at suitable locations.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “The role of public design is very important to realize Dobong as a competitive future city,” adding, “Following the previously established Public Design Promotion Plan, we will systematically improve guidance signs so that residents can use the stream comfortably and safely.”
