Share seedling news or post hopes for crop cultivation on personal SNS
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) Environmental Education Center is conducting an SNS event titled "I am GREEN Jungnang: Fashion Stop Side Story - Share the News of the Seedlings That Have Left Home" until August 21.
The Jungnang-gu Environmental Education Center has held the "I am GREEN Jungnang" event annually in June for Environment Day and in October for Food Day. In June this year, under the subtitle "Fashion Stop," the event highlighted the relationship between the fashion industry and the climate crisis and provided time to reflect on sustainable fashion. The three-day event received enthusiastic responses, with a total of 3,317 citizens participating.
This event was organized to share updates on the Jeju native seed seedlings distributed during the "Seedling Sharing Grown from Jeju Native Seeds" program held at the previous event and to further spread interest in crop cultivation.
Any Jungnang-gu resident can participate in the event. After applying through the official blog of the Jungnang-gu Environmental Education Center, participants post on their personal SNS either news about the seedlings that have left home or their hopes for growing crops, including the required hashtags in the post. Participants who successfully verify their posts will receive a coconut pot and autumn crop seeds.
The district aims through this event not only to share seedlings but also to help participants maintain ongoing interest in urban agriculture and promote environmentally friendly lifestyles.
Additionally, it is expected to enhance citizen satisfaction with various environmental events held at the Jungnang-gu Environmental Education Center and become a sustainable communication channel.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "Please share updates on the Jeju native seed seedlings distributed at the last event to see how well they are growing," and added, "We hope for active participation in this SNS event to revitalize urban agriculture."
