Gyeonggi-do Conducts 'On-Site Inspections' of Negligent and Illegal Construction Companies Including Wage Arrears Gyeonggi Provincial Government

Gyeonggi Province will conduct on-site inspections to eradicate poor quality and illegal activities in construction projects within the province.

The inspection targets include six companies engaged in public construction projects and one company with complaints of payment delays. Gyeonggi Province will verify whether these companies meet registration standards and will expand the investigation to construction sites of projects commissioned by the province, focusing on construction technology and management practices. If companies are found to be engaging in poor quality or illegal activities, the province will take action according to relevant laws and regulations.

Earlier, on March 19, Gyeonggi Province announced a policy plan to address chronic wage and payment delays in construction by signing a business agreement to create a "Gyeonggi Province Free of Construction Wage Delays." The province, together with related agencies, will develop response measures and conduct joint inspections.

Lee Myung-seon, Director of the Construction Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Continuous inspections of construction projects in the province are significant in enhancing the self-regulatory function of the construction industry, eradicating companies with chronic wage and payment delays, and helping reliable companies secure more projects through fair opportunities."
