Aviation Career Concert and Various Career Events Including New Industry Career Exploration Activities
Admission Briefings and 1:1 Consultations Provided as a Compass to Prepare for Rapidly Changing Entrance Exam Systems
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) is becoming a reliable beacon that illuminates the future by supporting various career programs for young people embarking on a journey to find their dreams.
On August 9, Mapo-gu held an Aviation Career Concert in collaboration with Asiana Airlines for about 300 youths interested in the aviation field, receiving enthusiastic responses.
On that day, the youths listened to career lectures by Asiana Airlines' first officer, technician, and senior flight attendant, and had a free Q&A session to ask questions they had been curious about. Afterwards, they participated in small-group mentoring with students from Korea Aerospace University and Inha Technical College, acquiring vivid and valuable career information such as department guidance and college entrance exam preparation methods.
Also, this year, Mapo-gu received favorable reviews for hosting two college entrance exam briefing sessions by inviting instructors Lee Man-gi from Uway Central Education and Yoon Yoon-gu from EBS, helping examinees and parents prepare for the rapidly changing college admission system and plan strategic academic paths.
Building on this, on August 12, 1:1 college entrance consultations for examinees and parents for the 2025 academic year will be held at Mapo Central Library, and at the end of the year, consultations for regular admissions preparation will be conducted.
Furthermore, Mapo-gu plans to play a pivotal role as a compass for university admissions by holding an entrance exam briefing session in September for parents of upper-grade elementary and middle school students to help them understand the changes in the 2028 college entrance system and establish learning strategies.
Along with this, as new industries such as robotics and future food sectors emerge recently, Mapo-gu will conduct a new industry convergence career exploration activity program called “Catch the Future Job! Mapo-gu Youth Future Job” in September with 5th and 6th-grade elementary students in the area.
In October, the 12th annual “Mapo Career Expo” will be held, providing about 2,600 first-year middle school students in the region with various career and department experience opportunities.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “Our role is to help young people with infinite potential freely pursue their dreams and passions,” adding, “Mapo-gu will always support and show unwavering interest and assistance for the bright future of our youth.”
