[Weather] Sleepless Nights Due to Tropical Nights Continue... Tomorrow's Daytime Temperature 35°C

On the 12th, while a heatwave with temperatures around 35 degrees Celsius continues nationwide, there will be showers accompanied by thunder and lightning in various areas.


On the 12th, the nationwide morning low temperatures are expected to be between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high temperatures between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius.

Looking at the low and high temperatures by region: Seoul 27°C and 34°C, Incheon 27°C and 33°C, Daejeon 26°C and 35°C, Gwangju 25°C and 34°C, Daegu 24°C and 34°C, Ulsan 23°C and 32°C, and Busan 25°C and 33°C.


Tropical nights, where nighttime temperatures rise above 25 degrees Celsius, will also continue. As of the 11th, Seoul has experienced 21 consecutive days of tropical nights, and Jeju 27 consecutive days.


Showers accompanied by thunder and lightning will occur in various places. On the night of the 11th, showers are expected in the central region, inland Jeolla, and northeastern inland and mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk. On the afternoon of the 12th, showers will occur in Jeju Island, the Seoul metropolitan area, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, northern Chungbuk, and northeastern inland and mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk.


The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasts that while temperatures will temporarily drop when showers occur, the high humidity will cause the apparent temperature to rise to around 35 degrees Celsius in some areas for the time being, continuing the heatwave. The apparent temperature increases by about 1 degree Celsius for every 10% increase in humidity.


In the early morning of the 12th, some inland areas will experience fog with visibility less than 1 km, so special caution is required for traffic safety and other matters.
