Elderly Woman in Her 80s Dies from Heat-Related Illness in Taean

115 Heat-related Illness Cases in Chungnam

Amid the ongoing heatwave, the first heat-related death has occurred in Chungnam.

According to provincial authorities on the 10th, at around 6:48 p.m. the previous day, an elderly woman in her 80s, referred to as Ms. A, was found collapsed and unconscious near her residence in Taean.

Firefighters responded to a report from her family and determined that Ms. A had already passed away. Medical staff concluded that the cause of death was presumed to be heatstroke.

So far, there have been 115 cases of heat-related illnesses reported in the Chungnam region: 23 in Dangjin, 17 in Seosan, 15 in Cheonan, 12 in Yesan, and 9 in Asan.
