The US MCC and the Mongolian government have joined forces to carry out a tap water supply project in Ulaanbaatar city.
‘Ssenipang,’ a domestic company specializing in water supply management and cleaning technology, is entering the rust water (red water) removal project in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Ssenipang announced on the 10th that after more than a year of preparation, it decided to participate in this project following the international bidding announcement on the 9th for the ‘Red Water (Rust Water) Resolution Support Project,’ issued to address the rust water problem occurring during the U.S. government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) water supply project in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Since 2019, the U.S. government, in partnership with Mongolia, has been implementing a $350 million support project to solve water shortages for residents of Ulaanbaatar and to continuously supply clean tap water. To this end, the U.S. MCC and the Mongolian government are constructing a wastewater treatment plant.
However, since a few years ago, complaints from residents about rust water have been continuously occurring throughout Ulaanbaatar, making rust water removal a major concern. The U.S. MCC and the Mongolian government ultimately decided to seek international consulting to solve the rust water problem in Ulaanbaatar and issued this announcement.
Ssenipang, participating in this bid, is gaining global attention for its technology that efficiently cleans water supply pipes using nitrogen. Established in 2013, Ssenipang is currently engaged in various businesses related to water supply management. In particular, it holds numerous related patents domestically and is conducting business utilizing related technology in Japan as well.
