Joint Workshop for Employee Capacity Building to Be Held at Busan Design Promotion Agency by Future Design Division and Promotion Agency at 1:40 PM on the 8th
On June 8 at 1:40 PM, the city of Busan held a 'Joint Workshop for Employee Capacity Building' at the Busan Design Promotion Agency, with staff from the Future Design Headquarters and the Promotion Agency participating together.
This workshop served as a platform to generate creative policy ideas aimed at establishing a 'design-based global hub city' that embodies Busan's unique characteristics and dignity, and to seek ways to implement the tasks of the 'Design Busan Innovation Strategy.'
On July 18, the city announced the 'Design Busan Innovation Strategy' at the 17th Busan Future Innovation Conference and has been making multifaceted efforts toward ▲'Global Design Innovation' ▲'Leading the Next-Generation Design Industry' ▲'Expanding Global Hub Design Assets.'
The workshop was attended by 80 public officials from the Future Design Headquarters and staff from the Design Promotion Agency, and included ▲expert lectures ▲departmental work presentations ▲policy idea development discussions ▲time for harmony and communication.
Employees from both organizations freely communicated and had time for unity, while also engaging in in-depth discussions on design policy.
First, in the expert lecture session, Lee Kyungmi, CEO of 'CYPHIX,' gave a lecture on 'Design That Asks Questions, Design That Answers Questions,' and Kang Pilhyun, President of the Busan Design Promotion Agency, gave a lecture on 'Understanding Design Management and the Design Industry.'
Next, in the departmental work presentations, each department from both organizations presented their key tasks, enhancing mutual understanding of the design policies being promoted by each institution.
During the policy idea development discussion, employees shared their 'policy ideas,' engaged in heated discussions to explore various ways to implement them, and presented the results as concrete new projects.
In particular, staff freely discussed practical solutions for the tasks of the Design Busan Innovation Strategy, including public-private cooperation policy (governance) operation plans, design projects to solve social issues, nurturing design convergence talent, and advancing the design industry, resulting in the creation of over 30 new projects such as the Busan City Brand Typeface Development Project.
Moving forward, the Future Design Headquarters plans not only to focus on its own projects but also to identify the list and budget of all projects in Busan that include design elements, so that design consultation and systematic design policy can be incorporated from the early planning stages.
During the time for harmony and communication, staff from the Future Design Headquarters and the Promotion Agency shared honest opinions about their work challenges and suggestions, creating a meaningful opportunity to understand each other.
Kim Yujin, Director of the Future Design Headquarters, stated, "We expect that this workshop will enable staff from both organizations to play a leading role in discovering public and urban designs unique to Busan and fostering the convergence design industry," and added, "Our city will continue to do its best to create a 'global design city' where everyone can have the best experience in the urban space of Busan."
