What Policy Do Gwangjin-gu Youth Prioritize Most?

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is hosting the '2024 Youth Policy Contest' themed on youth policies needed in various fields for Gwangjin-gu youth in celebration of Youth Day (September 21).

This contest was organized to discover innovative and highly practical youth policies by reflecting the diverse voices of Gwangjin-gu youth.

The contest covers five areas: ▲Youth Housing ▲Employment and Startups ▲Living Support ▲Culture and Arts ▲Mental and Physical Health. Youth can directly propose policy ideas and participate in voting, engaging in the youth policy formulation process.

Youth wishing to apply should submit the application form and idea proposal by the 23rd of this month via email to 'Seoul Youth Center Gwangjin.' Any youth aged 19 to 39 residing in Gwangjin-gu or attending (working at) a school (workplace) in the area can participate. If applying as a team of two or more, the representative must be a youth from Gwangjin-gu to participate.

The district plans to select the final winners (teams) at the end of September through online preliminary voting, on-site voting on Youth Day, and expert evaluation. Winners will receive the Mayor’s Commendation and prizes: Grand Prize (1 person) 500,000 KRW, Excellence Award (1 person) 300,000 KRW, and Merit Award (3 persons) 100,000 KRW each.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We prepared this youth policy contest to actively incorporate the ideas of Gwangjin-gu youth into district administration,” adding, “Going forward, Gwangjin-gu will continue to listen attentively to youth voices, communicate actively, and take the lead in solving youth issues.”
