Cyber Crime and Addiction Prevention Education for Dream Start Children and Caregivers
On the 8th, the city of Gumi in North Gyeongsang Province held a cyber crime and addiction prevention education session at the Gumi City Integrated Business Center, inviting school police officers from the Gumi Police Station to educate about 50 Dream Start children and their caregivers.
Gumi City conducted cybercrime and addiction prevention education for about 50 Dream Start children and their caregivers.
This education was planned to help participants understand the types and realities of cyber violence and addiction that frequently occur among children and adolescents, and to raise awareness to prevent such crimes.
The training was tailored to the needs of both children and caregivers. For children, the focus was on forming healthy digital usage habits and learning safety guidelines, while for caregivers, practical coping strategies were provided, including the role of parents, methods for early detection of problems, and ways to seek professional help.
Kim, one of the participating caregivers, said, "Through this education, I became more aware of digital crimes, and I believe it will be very helpful in raising my child in the future."
Gumi City's Dream Start provides customized integrated services such as health, welfare, and childcare for children from vulnerable backgrounds, promoting their healthy growth and development. Through these efforts, the program ensures equal starting opportunities and supports children so they can grow into healthy and happy members of society.
