Com2uS Reports Operating Profit of 1.4 Billion KRW in Q2... 'Turned to Black'

Com2uS announced on the 9th that it recorded consolidated sales of 173 billion KRW and an operating profit of 1.4 billion KRW in the second quarter of this year. Compared to the same period last year, sales decreased by 21.5%, while operating profit turned positive.


The global flagship title celebrating its 10th anniversary, Summoners War: Sky Arena, achieved double-digit growth compared to the same period last year through large-scale promotions, and the baseball game lineup also recorded over 40% growth compared to the previous year, responding to the popularity of professional baseball both domestically and internationally. Additionally, thanks to company-wide management efficiency improvements, the operating profit for the second quarter marked a second consecutive positive result.


The sales proportion of the gaming business is 66.6% overseas, with North America accounting for 28.3%, Asia 22.1%, and Europe 14%, in that order.


Com2uS plans to maximize the long-term performance of its main game lineup in the second half of the year and enhance competitiveness through the global launch of new titles and expansion of new publishing.


Expectations are high for Summoners War, recognized as a global hit. Following the collaboration update with the animation IP Jujutsu Kaisen conducted at the end of last month, the game is climbing back up the app market sales charts worldwide. On the day of the update, daily sales nearly reached an all-time high.


The baseball game lineup is also expected to continue its upward trend. Promotions aligned with the postseason of professional baseball leagues in Korea and the United States are being prepared for the second half of the year, with expectations for the highest annual performance ever. Next year, a new professional baseball game targeting the Japanese market will also be introduced.


In addition, starting with the global release of BTS Cooking ON: TinyTAN Restaurant on the 7th, Com2uS will present Starseed: Asnia Trigger, Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice, and GODS & DEMONS (tentative title) to global gamers in the second half of the year.


Subsequently, leveraging the Summoners War IP, Com2uS plans to target the global market with various new titles across different genres, including Summoners War: Legion, Legend Summoner (tentative title), The Starlight, Project M (tentative title), and Project SIREN (tentative title).


Meanwhile, Com2uS has decided to establish and disclose a new plan to enhance corporate value by the first quarter of next year. This reflects the company’s commitment to increasing shareholder value based on a continuous and stable shareholder policy.
