Busan City Hall In and Out, "Feast of Colors: Refreshing Rest" Exhibition... Offering Artistic Inspiration to Citizens' Daily Lives

'Feast of Colors' Theme: Media Art and Book Integration

Media Art: 10 New Works Displayed Monthly on First Floor Lobby Screen

Book Recommendations: August Theme 'Parangparang'... Deullaknalak and 3rd Floor Open Library

Busan City announced that this year, under the theme "Festival of Colors," visitors can experience quarterly media art and book curation exhibitions with different themes at City Hall Deullak Nallak.

Media art will be screened on the media wall in the lobby on the first floor of City Hall Deullak Nallak, while book curation will take place in spaces such as the Open Library on the third floor.

This summer's theme for media art at City Hall Deullak Nallak is "Refreshing Rest," with the representative work to be showcased in August being "RYSLI."

This artwork visualizes feathers colored by nature as data, recreating the movement of nature as they flutter in the wind.

It uniquely interprets nature by combining the colors of natural landscapes with the movements of organisms.

In particular, the city has newly introduced the subscription-based media art platform "VIDO GALLERY" this year, planning to present 10 new works every month.

VIDO GALLERY consists of 80 pieces of content.

August will begin with a piece titled "Everything That Vibrates." This work expresses the trembling and resonance of particles, depicting how, in quantum mechanics, all matter possesses both particle and wave properties simultaneously.

Book recommendations (book curation) will feature books related to August's theme, "Blue Blue," exhibited at City Hall Deullak Nallak and the Open Library on the third floor.

The August theme, "Blue," will be presented through books as a color of creation that inspires artistic creativity and is beloved in novels and essays for its charm.

On the first floor, Deullak Nallak will feature a special theme for children, "Blue, Dive Into Stories Filled With Blue!" with 10 books on display, including "Nawara Parang" by Na Eun-kyung, published by Hyang Publishing.

On the third floor, the Open Library will display eight books related to blue under the theme "Do You Like Blue?" including "The History of Blue" by Michel Pastoureau, published by Minumsa.

Kim Guiok, Director of the City Youth-Industry Cooperation Bureau, stated, "Our city aims to inspire citizens' daily lives by linking media art, the art of light and color, with books," and added, "We hope that many interested people will participate in this exhibition, which will be an opportunity to experience both books and the technology of the future."
