Utilization of Kakao Services and Educational Support
Kakao announced on the 9th that it held a launch ceremony for the 'Excellent Market Development' program for regular markets in collaboration with Kakao Impact and the Small Enterprise and Market Service.
The Excellent Market Development program, starting for the first time this year, aims to discover and spread best practices for the digital transformation of traditional markets. After reviewing project suitability, a total of five markets were selected: Busan Bansongkeun Market, Seoul Mangwon Market, Seoul Inheon Market, Sokcho Tourism Fisheries Market, and Pohang Keundonghae Market.
Each selected market will receive up to 20 million KRW in Talk Channel promotion support funds, a total of 6 million KRW for Talk Channel message sending and advertising support, and marketing activities such as offline promotional material production and local advertising.
Additionally, activities supporting the use of various Kakao services will be provided, including one-on-one on-site training by professional digital tutors, KakaoTalk Store entry and special exhibition planning, KakaoMap indoor map construction, and KakaoPay integration.
Park Yun-seok, Kakao’s Shared Growth Performance Leader, stated, "We plan to strengthen benefits linked with Kakao services such as Talk Store special exhibitions to support the development of online sales channels, hoping this will become a good example to be shared with other markets. We will continue to support the growth of traditional markets and their ongoing digital transformation."
Meanwhile, Kakao operates 'Project Danggol,' which provides solutions through direct visits to support the digital transformation of small business owners. 'Project Danggol' carries out various projects nationwide targeting small business owners, including 'Danggol Market' supporting traditional market merchants and 'Danggol Street' for local shopping districts.
