Recruiting Honorary Reporters for 'Yongsan-gu News' with 53,000 Copies Published

Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) is recruiting residents to serve as honorary reporters for the district newsletter, "Yongsan-gu News," until the 6th of next month. The purpose is to implement an administration that communicates with residents by having them directly cover district affairs with a sense of immediacy.

Selected honorary reporters will investigate and write articles each month on topics designated by the newsletter. They are expected to discover and report useful news closely related to residents' lives or cover heartwarming stories involving socially vulnerable or marginalized neighbors.

"Yongsan-gu News" publishes 53,000 copies monthly. This year, the district has also launched a "Gusu (口手) Newsletter," which delivers content in both spoken language and sign language, on its YouTube channel.

If an article written by an honorary reporter is selected as newsletter content, a fixed manuscript fee will be paid. Necessary supplies for activities, such as an honorary reporter ID and a notebook, will also be provided. The recruitment target is about 10 people, and the activity period is two years, with the possibility of one renewal.

Residents interested in district affairs, local university students, and office workers in the area are eligible to apply. Preference is given to those with writing or reporting experience and those proficient in using social networking services (SNS).

Applications must be submitted by 6:00 PM on the 6th of next month via email to the district office, including the application form and a sample article. The form can be downloaded from the district website.

After the application deadline, candidates will be evaluated based on article suitability, originality, communicative ability, expression, completeness, and relevant experience (with additional points). Successful applicants will be selected and announced during the next month. Honorary reporter activities will begin in October. Writing training to enhance reporters' skills will also be conducted at the appointment ceremony.
