Incheon International Airport Corporation to Operate New Airport in Vietnam

France ADP Surpasses Germany Fraport

Incheon International Airport Corporation has been selected as the preferred negotiation partner for the operation consulting project of the Long Thanh New Airport in Vietnam.

Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on the 8th that it achieved this result in the international competitive bidding for the new airport project advisory consulting by Vietnam Airports Corporation.

This project is a large-scale national project with a total budget of 18.3 trillion KRW. It involves developing a new airport with an annual passenger capacity of 100 million in three phases. The first phase, with a capacity of 25 million passengers, is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2026.

Incheon Airport Corporation will be responsible for ORAT consulting, a comprehensive preparation process required before the start of operations after the construction of the new airport, going beyond simple technology transfer or operational support consulting in the operation consulting of Vietnam’s Long Thanh New Airport. The goal is to establish global airport operation standards and provide the best experience to airport users through smooth operation of the new airport.

Several global airport operators, including France’s ADP and Germany’s Fraport, participated in this bidding. Incheon Airport Corporation formed a consortium with a local Vietnamese partner (PMI) and ranked first overall in both technical and price evaluations.

During the evaluation process, the client highly valued the corporation’s ▲successful know-how in new airport construction and opening ▲airport operation expertise based on world-class airport services such as 12 consecutive wins in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) awards organized by the International Air Transport Association (ACI) and reacquisition of the world’s first ACI Customer Experience Certification highest grade (5 levels) ▲various overseas project experiences including the Batam Hang Nadim Airport development and operation project in Indonesia and the Manila Airport development and operation project in the Philippines.

Upon winning the project, Incheon Airport Corporation will provide consulting to support the successful opening of Long Thanh New Airport, including ▲preparation of airport operation concept documents ▲commercial strategy establishment ▲trial operation consulting. The project period is 24 months from the contract signing date, and the expected contract amount is approximately 11 billion KRW.

Lee Hak-jae, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, said, "Winning this consulting project will secure a new overseas business base in the Southeast Asia region," adding, "We plan to expand overseas business aiming to operate more than 10 overseas airports by 2040 and become a truly global airport specialist company."
