Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) was honored on the 8th by winning the ‘2024 National Local Government Job Awards’ hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor for the third consecutive year.

The ‘National Local Government Job Awards’ is a representative regional job award ceremony held annually since 2012 by the Ministry of Employment and Labor to encourage the job creation efforts and achievements of 243 local governments and to raise social interest in regional employment policies.

Since the 7th term of the elected government, the district has been striving toward the goal of ‘Innovative and Coexistent Gwanak Economy,’ achieving tangible results by creating 12,598 jobs over the past year.

In particular, Gwanak S Valley, which transformed Gwanak from a barren land for startups into a mecca of venture startups, has established 17 startup infrastructure facilities, where about 1,000 people are currently working and developing their capabilities.

Additionally, the district was recognized for its efforts to revitalize the local economy through various job creation initiatives such as ▲‘Youth Policy Infrastructure Establishment’ for youth jobs, housing, culture, welfare, and communication including Gwanak Youth Center ▲the largest scale ‘Public Jobs for Livelihood Stability’ in Seoul ▲and ‘Customized Local Job Provision’ such as residential space styling and safety jobs protecting residents.

District Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “I am very pleased to receive the Job Award for three consecutive years as a result of continuous efforts focusing on the economic sector while proclaiming myself as an economic district mayor,” and added, “Jobs are the best welfare and circulate through the local economy, so we will do our best to create stable jobs through economic policies that all residents can feel.”
