An octogenarian motorcycle driver died after being run over by an 8.5-ton truck while driving on a road in Yangsan, Gyeongnam.
According to the Yangsan Police Station on the 8th, at around 1:18 p.m. the previous day, a collision occurred at an intersection near Woongsan-daero in Yangsan between a motorcycle driven by a man in his 80s, identified as A, and an 8.5-ton truck driven by a man in his 50s, identified as B.
After waiting for the signal and starting to move, the motorcycle collided with the right side of the truck. Due to the impact, A fell and was run over by the rear wheel of the truck, dying at the scene.
According to the police investigation, A, who was driving in the fourth lane, changed lanes to the third lane and collided with the truck that was also driving in the third lane, resulting in the fatal accident.
The police have booked B on charges of death by traffic accident under the Special Act on Traffic Accident Handling and plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident.
