Agreement Signed for Technology Development and Professional Workforce Training in the Offshore Wind Power Industry Sector
National Mokpo University (President Song Hacheol) is bringing a new wave of technological advancement to the offshore wind power industry through an agreement with LS Cable & System.
According to Mokpo University on the 8th, the university signed a technical agreement on the 7th with LS Cable & System, the largest submarine cable manufacturer, to foster technology and train specialized personnel in the offshore wind power industry.
LS Cable & System is recognized as a global leading company supplying advanced products such as submarine cables, superconducting cables, ultra-high voltage cables, and communication cables worldwide.

On the other hand, National Mokpo University operates a marine cable testing research center, possessing the only domestic testing facilities and technology in the marine cable field, enabling international certification testing and evaluation.
At the signing ceremony, LS Cable & System CTO/CQO Executive Director Lee Inho and other officials attended to explore cooperation in technology exchange, specialized personnel training for the offshore wind power industry, and joint use of equipment.
President Song Hacheol emphasized the significance of this agreement by stating, “Let us deepen the cooperation through industry-academic joint research projects and shared use of equipment conducted together by the Marine Cable Testing Research Center and LS Cable & System, building a closer and more progressive industry-academic partnership.”
This agreement between LS Cable & System and National Mokpo University promises new opportunities and innovations in the offshore wind power industry and is gaining attention as a model of cooperation between domestic companies and universities.
It is expected that through active collaboration between the two institutions, more advanced technology development and personnel training will be achieved in the future.
