"Protecting Livestock from the Heat Wave... Goseong County Mobilizes All-Out Response to Livestock Heat Damage" Goseong County Office.

The county has designated the period until the 31st as a key inspection period for livestock farms to prepare for summer disasters, and is actively working to prevent damages by conducting on-site inspections of livestock farms once a day.

The inspections include checking the installation and proper operation of cooling equipment, cleanliness and disinfection of livestock facilities to prevent diseases, and are carried out according to the on-site disaster prevention checklist for the livestock sector. The inspections focus particularly on pig and poultry farms, which are vulnerable to heat waves and electrical fires, as well as aging livestock facilities.

To minimize livestock damages caused by the heat wave, the county is providing support such as cooling devices, ventilators, cooling pads, and shading nets. In addition, to support livestock disaster insurance enrollment, which provides compensation in case of livestock damage, the county has secured an additional 35 million KRW through a supplementary budget, in addition to the original provincial government project.

Jung Daehoon, head of the Livestock Division, said, "We will strive to minimize damages to livestock farmers through thorough preparations," and urged, "We ask that livestock farmers also thoroughly inspect their livestock and electrical facilities in advance and pay close attention to livestock management during the summer."
