Samsung Asset Management's 'Yeongeumsulsa · Tujahalkkondae' Series Gains Popularity

Samsung Asset Management announced on the 8th that its pension and investment information series provided through its official YouTube channel is receiving high attention.

On the YouTube channel, content where employees appear directly to explain pension and stock investment directions, such as Samsung Asset Management channel’s ‘Yeongeumsulsa’ and KODEX ETF channel’s ‘Tujahalkkondae,’ are gaining popularity.

‘Yeongeumsulsa,’ the pension content on the Samsung Asset Management channel, is a pension talk show-style program where four top pension experts from Samsung Asset Management appear to explain complex pension-related systems, investment methods, and investment products in an easy-to-understand and entertaining way tailored to viewers’ perspectives. The episode ‘Pension Investment Using ISA and IRP,’ released in June, has steadily increased in views through word of mouth and recently surpassed 150,000 views.

The content, which delivers information on how to utilize IRP and pension savings, benefits of ISA accounts, and more in an interesting and easy manner, seems to have captured viewers’ attention. Since the end of last year, ‘Yeongeumsulsa’ has produced four episodes with a cumulative view count of about 200,000, ranking among the top in financial companies’ YouTube pension content.

The popular content on the KODEX ETF channel, ‘Tujahalkkondae,’ provides investment experiences and ETF-related investment advice from experienced older men (kkondae). It features SamproTV’s Jinwoo Lee and Samsung Asset Management’s Changgyu Choi. The program is well-known for sincerely sharing information that viewers are usually curious about, such as principles of long-term investment and investment directions, offering realistic investment advice, which has attracted many viewers. Since March this year, the three episodes in the ‘Long-term Investment’ series have accumulated about 180,000 views.

Kim Woon, head of the Digital Marketing Team at Samsung Asset Management, said, “The popularity factor is that professional management personnel appear directly to deliver detailed stories about pensions and investments, which can feel somewhat difficult, in an easier and more comfortable way to viewers.” He added, “Recently, the view counts of Samsung Asset Management’s YouTube content have been steadily increasing. We will continue to create and deliver complex but essential topics in an approachable manner at the viewers’ level so that they can become successful investors.”

The KODEX ETF channel also features ‘Issue Hanip,’ which interestingly introduces financial market/product trends and issues, and ‘Shuka Is Back,’ a collaborative project between famous YouTuber Shuka and KODEX.
