Donation Event for Developing Dokdo Promotional Teaching Materials Underway
To commemorate the 79th anniversary of Liberation Day, V Coloring is launching the 'Dokdo Wanderers' project in collaboration with Professor Seo Kyung-duk.
On the 8th, it was announced that the V Coloring service, jointly provided by the three major telecom companies including SK Telecom, will join forces with Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women’s University, who is well-known for his love of Dokdo, to protect Dokdo.
V Coloring is a video ringback tone service that shows a video set by the customer to the caller’s (originator’s) mobile phone until the call is connected to the recipient. Customers can set unlimited videos from over 30,000 diverse video contents as their coloring video, and they can also shoot, produce, and edit their own videos to set as their coloring.
The Dokdo Wanderers project is planned as a 2-day, 1-night trip next month to directly explore Dokdo and Ulleungdo, aiming to raise awareness of the historical significance and importance of preserving these areas. Professor Seo and 14 wanderers will accompany the journey.
The travelogue content capturing the Wanderers’ journey to Dokdo will be released on the V Coloring YouTube channel on October 25, 'Dokdo Day.'
Applicants wishing to participate in the Dokdo Wanderers can watch the video 'Professor Seo Kyung-duk’s Dokdo Story' uploaded on the V Coloring YouTube channel from the 8th until the 3rd of next month, and leave a comment explaining why they want to join the Wanderers. Participants will be selected through a screening process.
V Coloring will also hold a 'Dokdo Love Practice Donation Event' to help increase children’s and teenagers’ interest in Dokdo.
Videos capturing the nature and history of Dokdo will be produced as V Coloring content and offered as default setting videos from the 8th until August 15, Liberation Day, emphasizing the importance of Dokdo. When customers set this content as their V Coloring, a portion of the monthly subscription fee (3,300 KRW) will be donated to Dokdo schools. The donations will be used for developing promotional educational materials about Dokdo targeted at children and teenagers.
Professor Seo said, "Protecting Dokdo begins not only by thinking of Dokdo on special days like Liberation Day but by having a sense of closeness to Dokdo in everyday life. I hope this project with V Coloring will be an opportunity for more people to take an interest in and visit Dokdo."
Yoon Jae-woong, Head of SKT Subscription CO (Vice President), stated, "We will strive to make V Coloring a service that delivers positive social value through various projects that customers can easily participate in."
