Remote Work Scheduled for the Time Being

On the 7th, local media including Japan's public broadcaster NHK reported that Governor Koike was diagnosed with a knee joint avulsion fracture with a recovery period of two months after throwing the ceremonial first pitch at a professional baseball game held the previous day at Jingu Stadium in Tokyo. She will perform her official duties through remote work for the time being.
Governor Koike was seen limping after the pitch and was diagnosed with a fracture at the hospital. She participated as the ceremonial first pitch thrower to promote the World Athletics Championships to be held in Tokyo next year.
She plans to refrain from on-site visits for the time being but is reportedly coordinating to attend the Tokyo Metropolitan Memorial Ceremony for the War Dead on the 15th, which coincides with Korea's Liberation Day and Japan's defeat anniversary.
Earlier, Governor Koike was re-elected for a third term in the Tokyo gubernatorial election held on the 7th of last month.
