A Man in His 30s Found Dead in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul... "Possible Alcohol Poisoning"

It was belatedly revealed that a woman in her 30s was found dead in Sinwol-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.

According to the Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul on the 7th, the police responded to a neighbor's report on June 1st about a "strong smell" and discovered the body of Kim Mo (38) in the basement of a multi-family house in Sinwol-dong. No suicide note was found.

The police concluded the case with no suspicion of a crime, based on the absence of external injuries on the body and no signs of an intruder in Kim's home. Due to significant decomposition, the exact cause of death could not be determined from the autopsy.

However, lesions presumed to be fatty degeneration were found in Kim's liver, leading to the opinion that "death due to chronic alcohol poisoning cannot be ruled out."

Along with the autopsy results, the police considered testimonies from family and acquaintances stating that "Kim drank heavily on a regular basis," suggesting the possibility that Kim died from alcohol poisoning.

Additionally, since Kim had been in contact with acquaintances until mid-May, it is estimated that the death occurred between mid-May and June 1st.

It is known that Kim had moved to Seoul, lived alone, and supported herself through part-time jobs.
