Arrival at Incheon International Airport on the 7th
Regarding absence from the press conference, "I will refrain from speaking"
After winning the gold medal in the women's singles badminton event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, An Se-young (Samsung Life Insurance), who had made strong remarks toward the Badminton Korea Association, expressed a cautious stance on her way back to Korea.
At the Incheon International Airport arrival hall on the 7th, An Se-young said, "First of all, I have something I want to say," adding, "I did not intend to fight, but I wanted to appeal that I only want to focus on my sport, so please understand it that way."
She continued, "I just arrived," and said, "I have not yet talked with the Badminton Korea Association or consulted with my team. I will provide more detailed information after discussing it."

Regarding a question about Kim Taek-gyu, president of the Badminton Korea Association, who returned earlier that day and stated that "there was no conflict between the association and the players," she said, "I will discuss this further and then speak about it," adding, "I just arrived and really haven't done anything yet."
On the issue of Kim’s conflicting stance about not attending the Korea House press conference of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, she said, "There has been a lot of controversy about this," and added, "So I will refrain from commenting on this matter as well."
She added, "I have not talked with the association or the team. I think I can speak after having as much discussion as possible."
An Se-young did not take any more questions and, escorted by team officials, left the airport and boarded the Samsung Life Insurance team bus. During this process, many reporters and fans gathered, causing a chaotic scene.
Meanwhile, Kim, who returned earlier that morning, said, "There was no conflict between me and the players, or between the association and the players," and regarding the Korea House press conference, he said, "I never prevented attendance. I was also a bit surprised that (An Se-young) did not show up."
Originally, An Se-young explained that the reason she did not attend the press conference was not voluntary absence but because she was told to "wait."
