Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at Dongmyung University Operates 'High School Diverse Campus' Program

The Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at Tongmyong University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) announced on the 7th that it has been selected for the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education's "2024 Diverse Campus" program and is conducting various experiential learning activities under the theme of "Counseling Psychology Classroom."

Targeting high school juniors and seniors, the program offers a total of 34 hours of hands-on experiences in various fields of psychology, including counseling psychology, clinical psychology, and media counseling, until the 8th.

Students have the opportunity to participate in practical exercises such as psychological testing, group counseling, play therapy, art therapy, sand play therapy, and game play therapy, allowing them to explore potential career paths in these areas.

Students participating in the Diverse Campus program shared, "We learned that the field of psychology is very diverse, and it was a valuable experience to try out various areas firsthand. It also helped us discover which fields we are interested in, which was very helpful in setting our career direction."

Kim Minjeong, head of the Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology, said, "Even though nine days is not a short period, I was truly proud of the students who participated enthusiastically from early summer mornings. It was wonderful to see them becoming friends, learning, and working together through this program. I expect that this will be a great opportunity to develop the 4C competencies (Communication Skills, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creativity) required by future society."

The Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at Tongmyong University operates the nation's only integrated bachelor's and master's degree program in this field and is striving to produce experts in counseling and clinical psychology, including managing the Jung-gu Mental Health Welfare Center on commission.
