Policy Director Moon Taehong and Education Director Kim Youngshin Appointed in a Surprise Move
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education confirmed 15 key appointment candidates effective September 1 and announced them on the 7th.
In this key appointment, Moon Tae-hong, Head of Policy Planning Division, was appointed as Director of Policy Bureau, and Kim Young-shin, Head of Elementary and Early Childhood Education Division, was appointed as Director of Education Bureau.
Seo Young-ok, Principal of Beolgyo Middle School, was appointed as Head of Policy Planning Division; Kim Byung-nam, Superintendent of Elementary and Early Childhood Education Division, as Head of Elementary and Early Childhood Education Division; Kim Chan-jung, Head of Planning and Operations Department at Student Education Institute, as Director of Student Education Institute; and Ahn Kyung-ah, Superintendent of Elementary and Early Childhood Education Division, as Director of Early Childhood Education Promotion Institute.
Additionally, Jeong Deok-won, Principal of Bukpyeong Middle School, was appointed as Mokpo Education Director; Baek Do-hyun, Director of Education Bureau, as Yeosu Education Director; Kim Yeo-seon, Director of Policy Bureau, as Gwangyang Education Director; Kwon Hyung-sun, Principal of Jungma High School, as Goheung Education Director; and Kim Bo-hoon, Head of Operations Department at Suncheon Bay Ecological Culture Education Institute, as Muan Education Director.
Furthermore, Jeong Seon-young, former Head of Secondary Education Division, was transferred to Jangseong Education Director; Lee Cheol-young, Head of Education Support Division at Gwangyang Education Support Office, to Wando Education Director; Kim Mi, Principal of Suncheon Nam Elementary School, to Jindo Education Director; and Park Eun-ah, Principal of Damyang Geumseong Middle School, to Sinan Education Director.
The Provincial Office of Education evaluated this personnel appointment as reflecting the policy direction of the fourth term of the Superintendent, emphasizing "finding answers on the ground" to realize Jeonnam education under the theme of "Education of Coexistence, Sustainable Future."
In particular, the Director of Policy Bureau and Director of Education Bureau were assigned as Education Directors of Education Support Offices, and the headquarters division chiefs were emphasized to continue their service to realize sustainable K-Edu.
Superintendent Kim Dae-jung stated, “Jeonnam education will advance as a leading representative of K-Edu in Korea, realizing education that leads the world beyond the region. I believe that the key appointees entrusted with important responsibilities in this appointment will stand at the forefront and carry out their heavy duties.”
