On the 7th, Low-Carbon School Meals Promotion... "Strengthening Community Cooperation"
The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education (Superintendent Seo Geoseok) and the Korea Food Research Institute (Director Baek Hyunghee) have agreed to join forces to provide students with career experience opportunities and to promote low-carbon school meals.
On the 7th, Superintendent Seo Geoseok and Director Baek Hyunghee signed a memorandum of understanding on "Career Experience and Activation of Low-Carbon School Meals" at the 5th-floor conference room of the provincial education office.
The Korea Food Research Institute was established with the purpose of national industrial development and improving the quality of life for citizens through research and development in the food sector, creation of public value, dissemination of achievements, and technical support. It is the only government-funded research institute in the food sector in Korea.

At the signing ceremony, Superintendent Seo Geoseok, Director Baek Hyunghee, and about 10 related officials were present. Both organizations promised to establish a close cooperative system for career experience and the food sector.
The Korea Food Research Institute agreed to actively cooperate in content and various activities necessary for high school career experience and the activation of low-carbon school meals related to food research and technology.
The Jeonbuk Office of Education will play roles such as creating conditions, providing program guidance, and offering consultation for the Korea Food Research Institute’s high school career experience and low-carbon school meal operations.
Director Baek Hyunghee stated, "This agreement will be an opportunity to provide a better educational environment for students through the convergence of food research and education," and added, "I hope both organizations will work together to achieve greater cooperation."
Superintendent Seo Geoseok said, "I expect this to diversify students’ career experiences and help improve their health and form proper eating habits through food safety education," and added, "We will strengthen career education for students by cooperating with various local community institutions."
