Busan Office of Education Announces Preliminary Recruitment of 984 Elementary, Special, and Secondary School Teachers

411 Elementary Students, 33 Special Kindergarten and Elementary Students, 540 Secondary Students

The Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yoonsoo) announced in advance the 2025 public elementary, special (kindergarten and elementary), and secondary school teacher recruitment examination plan through the office's website at 10 a.m. on the 7th.

Through this pre-announcement, the Busan Office of Education provided information on 'planned subjects and number of recruits,' 'whether there will be separate recruitment for persons with disabilities,' 'the 2025 examination schedule,' 'details related to the Korean History Proficiency Test,' and 'changes for the 2025 school year (such as changes to the practical exam).'

The city office plans to recruit 984 teachers for elementary schools, special (kindergarten and elementary) schools, and secondary schools, reflecting factors such as teacher retirement (by age limit or honorably) and changes in student numbers.

The planned number of recruits for 'elementary and special (kindergarten and elementary) teachers' is 411 for elementary schools, 6 for special kindergartens, and 27 for special elementary schools, totaling 444.

The planned number of recruits for 'secondary school teachers' is 470 for secondary subjects, 25 for health, 3 for librarians, 18 for professional counseling, 11 for nutrition, and 13 for special (secondary), totaling 540, a slight increase compared to last year.

The number of recruits may be partially adjusted according to the confirmed allocation of staff in the second half of the year.

The implementation plan for the recruitment exam will be announced on the office's website on September 11 for elementary and special (kindergarten and elementary) teachers, and on October 2 for secondary school teachers.

Applications will be accepted online from September 30 to October 4 for elementary and special (kindergarten and elementary) teachers, and from October 14 to 18 for secondary school teachers. The first written exam is scheduled for November 9 for elementary and special (kindergarten and elementary) teachers, and November 23 for secondary school teachers.
