At around 9:37 a.m. on the 7th, a Korea Forest Service helicopter crashed while conducting aerial pest control operations on a hillside in Gojon-myeon, Hadong-gun, South Gyeongsang Province.
According to the South Gyeongsang Fire Department, the pilot, who is in his 40s, sustained minor injuries including a chest contusion and was transported to the hospital.
The crashed helicopter was an AS350 model, and the fuselage was partially destroyed due to the impact of the accident.
The police and forestry authorities believe the helicopter, which was flying at a low altitude for chestnut tree pest control, became entangled in power lines and crashed. They plan to investigate the exact cause of the accident.
Korea Electric Power Corporation has cut the power to the affected lines to prevent secondary accidents.
