First Competition, Over 250 Participants
The "1st Eastern Mountain Area Mountaineers Banghwadong-gil Climbing Competition" was held on the 6th at Banghwadong Natural Recreation Forest in Beonam-myeon, Jangsu-gun, Jeonbuk.
According to Jangsu-gun, this climbing competition was the first event, with about 250 participants belonging to mountaineering clubs from five cities and counties in the Eastern Mountain Area: Jangsu, Jinan, Namwon, Imsil, and Sunchang. The event was hosted by the Jangsu-gun Mountaineering Federation (President Lee Soon-chang) and received great enthusiasm from mountaineers.

The competition started from the Banghwadong parking lot, passed through Deoksan Valley, and returned to the main stage of Banghwadong Natural Recreation Forest, where the "2nd Jangsu Cool Valley Festival" was held. The ceremony was attended by Choi Hoon-sik, the county governor, Choi Han-joo, chairman of the county council, Park Yong-geun, provincial assembly member, and Lee Sung-chul, president of the sports association.
Choi Hoon-sik, governor of Jangsu-gun, said, "I hope this event will be an opportunity for mountaineers in the Eastern Mountain Area to strengthen friendship and harmony, and to promote regional exchange and mutual growth."
