Earlier, on the 2nd, Vice President Harris secured a majority of votes just two days after the roll call vote, effectively confirming her as the Democratic candidate.

Vice President Harris will formally accept the nomination at the Democratic National Convention held in Chicago from the 19th to the 22nd.

The Associated Press evaluated that Harris becoming the Democratic presidential candidate has changed the mood of the Democratic campaign, which had been stagnant following President Joe Biden's defeat in the TV debate.

The announcement of the vice presidential candidate is also imminent. According to political media such as Politico, Vice President Harris is expected to announce her running mate via video on the 6th and then begin campaigning in seven battleground states, starting with Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Major foreign media outlets, citing multiple sources, reported that the vice presidential candidate has been narrowed down to Josh Shapiro, Governor of Pennsylvania, and Tim Walz, Governor of Minnesota.
