Cars Made in Mexican Factory Exported to Over 190 Countries
The Kia Mexico plant has surpassed a cumulative production of 2 million units in 8 years and 3 months. The Mexico plant, utilized as a production base targeting the North American market, will launch the next-generation compact sedan K4 in the U.S. market in the second half of this year.
On the 5th (local time), Kia Mexico announced that it delivered the 2 millionth vehicle produced, a 2025 K4 in Snow White Pearl color.
Kia established a state-of-the-art production line in Mexico in May 2016 and achieved a cumulative production record of 2 million units in 8 years and 3 months. The Kia Mexico plant currently has an annual production capacity of 400,000 units.
Yoon Seung-gyu, Head of Kia North America Division and U.S. Sales Corporation, said, "Producing 2 million vehicles in 8 years and 3 months is proof of Kia Mexico’s dedication and achievements." He added, "Kia Mexico has served as a production hub for several important markets and has played a key role in Kia’s success by producing models with excellent marketability and quality, such as Kia’s best-selling Forte sedan."
Starting in the second half of this year, Kia plans to export its next-generation compact sedan K4 to more than 190 countries worldwide. The 4-door sedan K4 is attracting attention as a vehicle equipped with top-level technology, refinement, and spaciousness in its class.
The K4 will be launched in five trims: ▲LX ▲LXS ▲EX ▲GT-Line ▲GT-Line Turbo. Among them, a turbo engine option is available, and the GT-Line comes standard with a multi-link rear suspension to enhance agile driving performance. From the second half of this year, the LX, LXS, and EX trims will be released first in the U.S. market.
