Charged with Parental Homicide
A man in his 20s was arrested by the police for killing his father with a weapon after becoming enraged upon hearing that his mother had been assaulted.
The Seongdong Police Station in Seoul announced on the 6th that they have detained and are investigating a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of killing a direct ascendant.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of drinking alcohol and then going to the home of his father, Mr. B, in his 70s, located in Geumho-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, around 12:30 a.m., where he stabbed and killed him with a weapon.
Mr. B was transported to a nearby hospital but ultimately passed away.
The police, who responded to a report of "loud noises coming from the house," arrested Mr. A at the scene of the crime.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated, "I became angry after hearing that my mother was assaulted, so I committed the crime."
The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant after conducting a detailed investigation into the circumstances of the crime with Mr. A.
