All executives at the headquarters, including CEO Kim Wan-seok, visited the construction sites in person to check whether preventive measures were properly implemented in accordance with the Ministry of Employment and Labor's special response guidelines for heatwave and heavy rain safety management.
HJ Heavy Industries is conducting its own 'Rest Alert Traffic Light' campaign to strictly adhere to the three basic rules for preventing heat-related illnesses: water, shade, and rest. This system monitors the real-time perceived temperature of the day, indicates the level according to the temperature, and visually categorizes behavioral guidelines by color so that workers can easily recognize them. At caution (yellow), warning (orange), and danger (red) levels, a mandatory 10 to 15-minute break is enforced every hour, and outdoor work is shortened or suspended depending on workers' health conditions.
Rest areas are installed in locations easily accessible to workers, equipped with ice makers and coolers to facilitate rest. Additionally, a seasonal NOK (Knock) campaign is conducted to foster a culture of safety and health. This month, the campaign is running under the slogan "No to heatwave illnesses! Yes to securing water, shade, and rest!"
CEO Kim Wan-seok stated, "Through thorough safety and health management activities, we have achieved zero serious accidents for four consecutive years up to last year," and added, "This year as well, we will do our best to continue a five-year streak of accident-free operations through the interest and efforts of all employees."
