Opens YouTube Channel 9 Years After Release
"Trying to Escape a Listless Daily Life..."
Singer Go Young-wook, who served a prison sentence for forcibly molesting a minor, has launched a YouTube channel.
On the 5th, Go Young-wook posted on his social media service X (formerly Twitter), "I have lived a shameful life," and said, "I feel like I am aging miserably while lamenting at home, so I am starting YouTube without much thought to escape this lethargic daily life." Along with this, he shared a link to his YouTube channel titled 'Go! Young-wook.'
In the approximately 4-minute video uploaded on the channel, Go Young-wook’s pet dog lying under the sunlight by the window can be seen. Then, a song titled 'Fresh,' presumed to be written and composed by him, plays along with his photos. As of 1 p.m. on the 6th, the video has surpassed 11,000 views. The comment section is closed.
Previously, Go Young-wook debuted in 1994 as part of the dance group 'Roo'ra' and actively continued his entertainment career. However, from July 2010 to December 2012, he was tried for sexually assaulting and forcibly molesting three minors in four separate incidents. He was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison in December 2013 and was released in July 2015 after serving his full term.
Upon release, Go Young-wook apologized, saying, "I reflected a lot during my incarceration," and "I am sorry for causing trouble as an entertainer." Since then, he has continuously tried to resume his entertainment activities. In November 2020, he opened an Instagram account and said, "I want to live communicating with the world," but the account was shut down due to reports.
