Yeongil Yoo, a member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly (left), is receiving an appointment letter and taking a commemorative photo after being appointed as the Chief Political Secretary of the People Power Party for the second half of the term.
Assemblyman Yoo Young-il (Anyang 5), appointed as the Chief Political Secretary of the People Power Party in the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly, has pledged to actively lead people-centered governance through bipartisan cooperation.
Assemblyman Yoo stated, "The People Power Party is overcoming the confusion of the first half of the provincial assembly and showing a developed image of integration through communication and cooperation. Moving forward, I will not lose my original intention to become a trusted politician who always approaches residents first by achieving people-centered governance through bipartisan cooperation beyond the integration of the People Power Party for the happiness of the residents."
Despite being a first-term assemblyman, Yoo was recognized for his balanced political sense and was elected as the Chair of the Urban Environment Committee in a by-election at the provincial assembly plenary session in March last year, winning a majority of the votes.
During his tenure as chair, Assemblyman Yoo achieved results such as ▲enactment of the Gyeonggi Province Housing Tenant Jeonse Damage Support Ordinance (July 2023) ▲proposal of a resolution urging the enactment of a special law on the maintenance and support of aging planned cities (December 2023) ▲enactment of the Gyeonggi Province Ordinance on the Maintenance and Support of Aging Planned Cities (June 2024).
He also secured provincial funding for environmental improvement projects at the Anyang City Jayu Park Lawn Bowls Stadium in his constituency, the creation of school forests, the replacement of the fence at Baekyoung High School, and additional budgets for the redevelopment projects of Anyang City Citizen Park and Jayu Park.
Assemblyman Yoo promised, "The Urban Environment Committee, which deals with housing and environmental issues fundamental to our daily lives, has many issues closely related to the happiness of the residents. In the second half of the term, I will prioritize establishing stable housing policies amid soaring house prices and rental deposit fraud and carry out legislative activities accordingly."
