Buffet Price Per Person... 8,000 KRW on Weekdays, 12,900 KRW on Weekends
"Receiving Attention from Headquarters as Well"
Recently, an unlimited refill buffet where you can eat unlimited BBQ chicken has emerged, becoming a hot topic online.
On the 4th, a video titled "A Taste Like Never Before! The Nation's First BBQ Chicken Buffet" was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Dokgeo Ddoraengi.' He introduced a newly opened BBQ store in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province as "the first store in the country to implement a BBQ buffet."
According to the banner hanging in front of the store, the weekday BBQ buffet is priced at 8,000 KRW per person, and the weekend buffet is 12,900 KRW per person. Compared to BBQ's signature menu, the Golden Olive Chicken, which costs 23,000 KRW, this is a much more affordable price. The usage time is 2 hours.
Inside the store, there were various menu items such as Golden Olive Chicken, Golden Olive Chicken Hot Wings, seasoned chicken, long cheese sticks, cheese balls, so-tteok so-tteok (skewered rice cakes and sausage), pork cutlet, fish cutlet, pepperoni pizza, and tteokbokki.
Dokgeo Ddoraengi said, "They keep serving small amounts continuously so the chicken doesn't get cold," and added, "The owner came up with the idea of a buffet for the first time at BBQ, and the headquarters is paying a lot of attention to it." He continued, "These days, with delivery fees leaving no profit, the owner started this thinking it would be better to activate the dine-in space and offer food at a low price rather than losing everything to delivery commissions."
Netizens who heard the news responded with comments such as "Chicken buffet is unfamiliar but the cost-effectiveness is the best," "I hope it opens in every neighborhood," "It's a shame it's far from home," and "If it gets famous, people will probably line up quickly."
Meanwhile, most chicken franchises have recently raised their prices. The increase in chicken prices seems to be influenced by overall cost increases, including labor costs. BBQ raised the price of its ‘Golden Olive Chicken’ from 20,000 KRW to 23,000 KRW in May and increased prices on 23 products by 6.3%.
Consumer groups also announced survey results showing that cafeteria meals and chicken ranked first and second as factors raising dining-out prices in the first quarter of this year. According to a survey by the Consumer Public Interest Network, the average price increase rate over the past three years for the three major chicken franchises?BHC, BBQ, and Kyochon Chicken?was 12.6%.
