Newbotec, a company specializing in the manufacturing of water supply and drainage pipes, announced on the 5th that it has registered a technology that improves the ease of manufacturing, transportation, and handling of rainwater storage tanks.
The registered patent is a technology applied to Newbotec's rainwater storage facilities, which have been designated as innovative products, called the "Prefabricated Storage Tank Structure Patent."
The core of the prefabricated storage tank structure patent is the formation of side blocks that allow for lightweight and prefabricated assembly, enhancing manufacturing ease and making transportation and handling more convenient due to the reduced weight.
The storage tank structure is a facility that temporarily stores water during heavy rainfall periods to prevent flood damage, mainly installed near urban rivers or roads. When the rain stops, the stored water is released back into the river to regulate water levels and improve water quality.
Existing above-ground storage tanks have difficulties in space utilization and maintenance, leading to the recent emergence of underground storage tanks as an alternative. Underground storage tanks offer advantages such as easier space utilization and excellent flood prevention effects.
Currently, due to economic development and urbanization, the increase in impervious pavement surfaces has made it difficult for rainwater to infiltrate the ground, resulting in groundwater depletion and flooding during heavy rains.
To address these issues, recent attempts have been made to install underground rainwater storage tanks to restore the soil's water retention and drainage functions. However, traditional methods using cast-in-place concrete or precast box culverts have faced problems such as transportation limits due to heavy weight, the need for special transport equipment during construction, increased costs, construction inconvenience, and reduced safety.
In contrast, the technology patented by Newbotec arranges multiple storage cells to mutually support each other and forms walls by creating interlocking joints on the side blocks. It also applies a method to fix adjacent side blocks through insertion parts. This is expected to enhance the efficiency of rainwater storage tanks and improve construction convenience and safety.
Currently, Newbotec holds the highest order amount with a 15% share among the top 15 companies in procurement orders for the second quarter of this year. Newbotec plans to maintain high order volumes and increase sales through continuous research and development and synergy among related products.
Meanwhile, Newbotec, established in January 1994, is a KOSDAQ-listed company. It specializes in manufacturing water supply and drainage pipes and rainwater storage facilities, holding a high market share in the domestic water supply and drainage pipe market.
