In the final shoot-off, both archers scored 10 points, but Kim Woo-jin's arrow was closer to the center of the target, securing the gold medal.

Korean archery had already won gold medals in the men's team, women's team, mixed team, and women's individual events. This marked the first time in history that Korea swept all five gold medals in archery events.

Kim Woo-jin, who won gold in the men's team and mixed team events, became the third Olympic archery triple crown winner with this victory, following An San (Gwangju Bank) from the Tokyo Olympics and Lim Si-hyun (Korea National Sport University) in this tournament. Among male archers, he is the first ever to achieve the Olympic archery triple crown.
