Kim Du-kwan: "Lee Jae-myung Group Occupies Democratic Party... Reminiscent of Hanahoe"

"Absolutely No Expansion of Scope... That Conclusion Means Defeat"

Kim Du-kwan, a candidate for the leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the 'Democratic Party National Innovation Council,' mainly composed of hardline pro-Myeong (pro-Lee Jae-myung) factions, by comparing it to the 'Hana Group' on the 4th.

On the same day, Kim sent a message to the delegates, stating, "It is no exaggeration to say that the fate of our party is currently controlled by the Democratic Party National Innovation Council," adding, "This behavior is reminiscent of the Hana Group, which was a private organization within the military."

Kim said, "The reason the Innovation Council, which was an organization of hardline non-incumbent figures, became the largest faction within the party is due to candidate nominations. This is why the phrase 'Pro-Myeong wins, anti-Myeong loses' emerged," and added, "They are focusing on the next local elections while taking control across the country."

Kim explained, "The reason I said that the Democratic Party has been occupied by some hardline 'Gaeddal' supporters is because a structure has been created that mobilizes fandoms with little experience in party activities to decision-making processes that require high-level political judgment."

He pointed out, "It does not mean that 'Gaeddal' supporters have occupied the party, but in fact, it means that the Lee Jae-myung group has taken over," and criticized, "Changing the party constitution frequently in their favor and having a faction, which can be called a private organization, dominate the party's nationwide organization is unprecedented in the history of the Democratic Party."

Kim said, "A Democratic Party symbolized entirely by a single candidate, Lee Jae-myung, can never expand its outreach," and concluded, "The inevitable result of that is defeat."
