Eunpyeong-gu Conducts Resident Voting for Participatory Budget Selection Eunpyeong-gu is conducting a resident vote for participatory budgeting selection until the 27th of this month. Provided by Eunpyeong-gu.

Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 4th that it will conduct a “Resident Vote for the Selection of Participatory Budget Projects for 2024 (to be implemented in 2025)” for about a month from the 1st to the 27th of this month.

The resident vote allows voters to select one preferred project per policy task, with a total of five policy tasks to vote on. The policy tasks are ▲Accompanying the Vulnerable ▲Resident Participation and Support for Culture and Arts ▲Creating a Smart Living Environment ▲Establishing a Safe Urban Environment ▲Creating Healthy Walking Trails and Parks. Each task includes 3 to 6 policy projects, with a total of 24 projects on the voting list.

Notably, this year, youth projects have been added separately with a maximum budget of up to 50 million KRW. Only youth residents of Eunpyeong-gu aged between 19 and 39 can vote. The youth projects on the ballot include four projects such as Build-up Youth Campus, a youth growth self-development education program; Hyejaroun 1-in Life, a social dining program combining cooking and camping for single-person youth households.

Youth projects include a total of six projects such as ▲Puberty Climate: Let’s Make Us Mature! ▲Film Screenings for Youth (Watch Movies and Travel the World!) ▲Support for Youth Club Activities. Only youth can vote, and they can select three projects among these.

Any Eunpyeong-gu resident who wishes to participate can do so online through the Eunpyeong-gu resident participation online platform “Participation Big Forest.” Residents who find online voting difficult can vote offline at on-site polling stations set up at the district office and each community service center.

The results of the Eunpyeong-gu participatory budget resident vote will be announced at the residents’ general meeting held at the Eunpyeong Multipurpose Gymnasium on the 31st of this month.

District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, “This year, we separately allocated a budget for youth projects and conducted participatory budget project voting to carefully design policies together with residents so that no socially vulnerable groups, youth, or adolescents are excluded from policy projects. We ask for your great interest and participation in participatory budget projects, where residents’ opinions and ideas become the foundation for driving real change.”
