Defeating Turkey to Advance to Semifinals
Just 2 More Wins Away from Becoming a Two-Time Olympic Champion

Women's archery national team member Jeon Hun-young (Incheon City Hall) advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 Paris Olympic individual event.

On the 3rd, Jeon Hun-young defeated Elif Gokir of Turkey 6-2 (28-26 28-29 28-25 28-26) in the women's individual quarterfinals held at Les Invalides in Paris, France.

Having won the gold medal in the women's team event alongside Lim Si-hyun (Korea National Sport University) and Nam Soo-hyun (Suncheon City Hall), Jeon Hun-young needs just two more wins to become a two-time Olympic champion.

Jeon Hun-young will compete for a spot in the finals at 8:52 PM Korean time against the winner of the match between Lim Si-hyun and Alejandra Valencia (Mexico). Nam Soo-hyun has also advanced to the quarterfinals.

Since the 2012 London Games, South Korea has never missed out on the gold medal in the women's individual archery event. The archery team has secured all three gold medals awarded so far in this tournament.

If champions emerge from the women's individual event and the men's individual event, which concludes on the 4th, South Korea will hold all five Olympic archery gold medals for the first time in history.
