20 Million Won Given for Car Purchase and Academy Fees...
"No Marriage Since You Lied About Your Job," Breakup Notice
A man who lied about his job to his fianc?e and was found out complained that after lending her 20 million won, he was told they were breaking up.
On the 2nd, a story of a man in his 30s, Mr. A, was featured on YTN Radio's 'Attorney Jo Inseop's Counseling Center.'
Mr. A introduced himself to Ms. B, whom he met at a club, as a 'manager at a small-to-medium enterprise.' In reality, Mr. A's position was 'assistant manager,' but he missed the chance to be honest, and the two developed a romantic relationship.
One day, they happened to run into one of Mr. A's colleagues, and it naturally came out that Mr. A was an assistant manager. Mr. A apologized, saying, "I didn't mean to deceive you," and Ms. B forgave him, saying, "It's okay. I didn't date you because of your job."
However, suddenly Ms. B announced she was quitting her job and asked, "I want to study, so please lend me tuition fees." She also requested additional money to buy a car, saying the distance from home to the academy was far. Grateful that Ms. B forgave his lie, Mr. A reportedly gave her about 20 million won.
A few months later, Ms. B told him they were breaking up, saying, "When I told my parents, they said you can't fix your habit of lying."
After being blocked by Ms. B, Mr. A sent 100 won deposits to her account one by one, along with messages like "Give me back the money I lent you," "You have no conscience," "Return the money," and "I can't break up with you." Ms. B then filed a complaint against Mr. A.
Regarding this, Mr. A said, "My girlfriend said I lied to her and that the marriage was off," and asked, "Is it a crime that I sent gifts trying to win her back?"
Netizens responded with various comments such as, "Mr. A was wrong, but shouldn't she return the money?", "Lying about being a manager when you're an assistant manager?losing trust is natural," and "Even between lovers, it's best not to mix money issues."
