Korea Venture Investment Corp. launched the 3rd term of its in-house volunteer group, 'KVIC Together,' and has begun full-scale social contribution activities.
On the 2nd, Korea Venture Investment held an inauguration ceremony at its headquarters meeting room in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and conducted its first volunteer activity of the year on the 26th. On this day, the volunteer group collaborated with the Seocho-gu Volunteer Center to create 'cool kits' to help neighbors suffering from the heatwave, conveying warmth to help them have a more comfortable summer.
The KVIC Together volunteer group is Korea Venture Investment's representative volunteer organization, launched in 2022. It began activities to practice the institution's strategic direction of 'Leading Social Responsibility in the KVIC Style.'
This year, 54 executives and employees, including Shin Sang-han, Vice President of Korea Venture Investment (acting CEO), are participating as volunteer members. Starting with this volunteer activity, they plan to carry out three more regular volunteer activities for socially vulnerable groups by the end of the year.
Next month, they will conduct facility maintenance work and install safety footprints to create a lively village park. The plan is to improve the village park, a community space for local residents, to be safer and more enjoyable to use. By the end of the year, they intend to produce and deliver Christmas gift kits so that economically disadvantaged children can have a warm winter.
In addition to these regular volunteer activities, efforts will be made to build big data maps for the visually impaired and provide venture finance education for university students. Through the talent donation activity of venture finance education for university students, the institution will utilize its expertise to impart knowledge and experience to students. Korea Venture Investment executives and venture capital (VC) investment analysts will participate to share the structure and current status of the venture investment industry with university students interested in venture investment and the startup ecosystem.
The big data map construction project for the visually impaired is designed for transportation-vulnerable groups such as the visually impaired and wheelchair users. It is a social contribution project that collects accessibility information in collaboration with the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled.
A Korea Venture Investment official said, "The volunteer group is striving to coexist with the local community and create a better society. We will continue to lead social responsibility as a public institution through ongoing activities."
