In response, Yeosu City plans to support improvement and maintenance projects for infrastructure such as roads, rivers, and transportation facilities within the industrial complex, while also promoting the initiative to encourage more companies to participate.

Jung Jeong-bok, the plant manager of DL Chemical, stated, “For strengthening corporate competitiveness, co-prosperity with the local community is essential,” adding, “Since this agreement lays the foundation for mutual growth, we will actively implement its contents.”

Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong responded, “To establish a virtuous cycle where young talent settles in the region, stable jobs must come first,” and added, “I hope this will become an excellent partnership through active exchanges between the two organizations, not only for youth employment but also for broader cooperation.”

Meanwhile, since 2017, Yeosu City has signed agreements with 25 companies in the Yeosu Industrial Complex, including GS Caltex, Namhae Chemical, Kumho Petrochemical, LG Chem, and Lotte Chemical, to prioritize hiring local residents.
